  • Weaving Praxis is published! Resisting Divide-and-Conquer Strategies in Education

    During a year-long stint as a visiting assistant professor in Ohio, I struggled to find connection. Then I met Sarah Nagle, a creation and innovation librarian, and Cydni Nagle, a postdoctoral scholar in fashion and culture studies. Together, the three of us embarked on an interdisciplinary project geared toward assisting education students in connecting deeply with the concepts of culture, intersectionality, and social studies. The result was so personally and professionally rewarding, we decided to write about it.

    In 2015 and 2016, I was hired to lead a team of incredible educators in writing a unique curriculum for the State Fair of Texas. The result was a robust, standards-based set of activities that integrated core subjects with the arts.
