    Illinois State Geological Survey is seeking to hire an Assistant Research Scientist, Geology to lead basic and applied research in geological mapping of glacial and non-glacial Quaternary deposits, environmental geology and/or environmental hazards.

    The Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS), which investigates and documents the biological resources of Illinois and other areas and acquires and provides natural history information that can be used to promote the common understanding, conservation, and management of these resources, is seeking to hire a Large River Fisheries Ecologists to develop, direct, and conduct research activities focused on issues surrounding the impact, control, and management of bigheaded carp and other potential nuisance or invasive species throughout the Upper Mississippi River. This position is located in Havana, IL. However, most work will be based at our satellite office in Macomb, IL.

    The Illinois Natural History Survey is seeking a Visiting Assistant Research Scientist who will develop, plan, direct, and conduct basic and applied research of significance on selected harmful or economically significant insect pests, including non-native pets, pests of export significance, and/or pest not known to occur in the U.S.  This position will be based in Champaign, IL. 

  • Assistant Director for Data Stewardship - PRI

    PRI is seeking to hire a Assistant Director for Data Stewardship who will serve as an integral member of the PRI Executive Leadership team. Recommend, contribute, and collaborate with the PRI Executive Director to develop and implement the strategic vision for the Institute, to implement process improvements, and to develop and implement metrics and track progress toward strategic goals. Will provide vision and leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive data stewardship program at the Prairie Research Institute. This role will involve managing a multidisciplinary team, leading grant proposals, collaborating with external partners and stakeholders, and overseeing the integration and interoperability of diverse data systems to support the Institute's research objectives.

    ISGS is seeking to hire a Visiting Assistant Research Scientist, Process Engineer to conduct original research and technology development for ongoing projects related to critical mineral separation, refining, and process design.  Conceive, recommend, and initiate new research in these areas.  This position is based in Champaign, Illinois.

    The Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS), whose research and service programs provide citizens, industries, and government agencies at all levels with timely, science-based information and analyses necessary to manage our water resources wisely for economic development and a sustainable environment, is seeking a Director who will provide strategic direction and overall administration for the Survey while also serving in a Principal Research Scientist role to administer research activities of the Survey by conceiving, recommending, implementing, directing, and participating in scientific research focused on the selected candidate's area of study while contributing to the overall scientific mission of the Prairie Research Institute (PRI).  This is an in-person position based in Champaign, Illinois.
