  • Dow Diamond Symposium

    The Dow Diamond Symposium is an exciting three day event intended for African American, Latino, and American Indian undergraduate students majoring in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Accounting/Finance, and Business Administration with one of the world’s largest and leading chemical companies. Selected participants will be exposed to potential career opportunities within Dow and learn more about the Science to Our Success.

    Diamond Symposium participants can expect to:
    - Hear from dynamic Dow leaders on “How to Create Your Personal Brand” and “Build Networking Skills”

  • USC-Amazon Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)

    The University of Southern California (USC) and Amazon Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) provides outstanding undergraduate students with the opportunity to compete for positions in that allows them to spend 8 weeks in Los Angeles working on cutting-edge research projects in the field of artificial intelligence, computer science and engineering, and robotics. The USC-Amazon SURE program focuses on undergraduate students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in STEM and allows participants to work in an academic-industry collaboration under the supervision of Viterbi faculty and current PhD students to develop skill sets in research towards academia as well as your career goals. Participants also will engage in professional network opportunities and build relationships that will expand their academic and professional horizons to further their research and career paths. The overarching goal of USC-Amazon SURE is to help students develop an understanding of research in engineering disciplines and prepare students with skills for successful academic careers in engineering graduate programs.

    All USC-Amazon SURE fellows are provided with a $650 stipend per week, campus housing, travel to and from Los Angeles, health insurance, and educational and social activities during the program.

    The First-Generation Focus (FGF) is a semester-based program designed to develop, support, and empower first-generation college students in their first and second year of college and help them gain greater confidence in the areas of Financial Well-Being, Career Readiness & Persistence, and Personal Wellness.  Other opportunities include mentorship, early internships, interview prep workshops, and continuous professional development and networking. 

    The students that join FGF are freshman and sophomore college students who: identify as first-generation, are currently enrolled at a college or university in the United States, and do not require sponsorship for employment authorization for future employment opportunities.

    Applications close January 18, 2022, and the new cohort is set to begin in February.  Once the cohort hits capacity, applications will be closed.
