  • Undergraduate Research Resource Fair

    The College of Engineering Office of Research, Undergraduate Programs Office, and the Engineering Council Deans Student Advisory Committee sponsor the Undergraduate Research Resource Fair at least once a year, typically early in the semester. This event provides engineering undergraduate students the opportunity to gather information on how to get involved in research, meet people from different research laboratories and undergraduate research programs, and learn more about engineering research.

  • Summer Research Opportunities in Computing (SROC)

    Indiana University-Summer Research Opportunities in Computing (IU-SROC) is a 10-week summer research program focused on the fields of computer science, bioinformatics, human-centered computing, computer vision, health informatics, security, cloud computing, interactive intelligent systems, text mining, and high performance computing.

    The 2017 IU-SROC will be from May 19 to July 28, 2017. Successful applicants will receive $5000 stipend, plus housing and a meal plan. Students will be working in the lab with a faculty and PhD student mentor and will participate in professional development and social activities.

  • 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS)

    The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) invites you to present at the 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Illini Union (A, B, C, South Lounge, and the 2nd Floor).  The URS is the signature event of Undergraduate Research Week (April 21 - 27).  Throughout the day, students will present their oral and poster presentations, creative performances, and interactive exhibits to members of the campus and local community.

  • 2024 Research Experience and Mentoring (REM) Program - CISTAR

    The Research Experience and Mentoring (REM) Program is a paid opportunity for students to participate in a combined 2024 summer experience:  6 weeks doing cutting-edge research at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, from May 20 – June 28, 2024, and 4 weeks mentoring kids participating in an NSBE SEEK camp.  

    The research focus this summer is Energy for Our Growing World--how a wide range of energy sources (renewables, emerging energy technologies—biofuels, solar, nuclear, wind, shale, and other fossil fuels) serve the needs of people and communities, and how we balance those needs against the impact these energy sources differentially have on our world.

    The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program is a paid opportunity for students to engage in an intensive research project and participate in professional development.  The REU program includes ten weeks of research at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, or at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, from May 20 – July 26, 2024.  

    Participants will be matched with an Engineering faculty member and graduate mentor on a research project of mutual interest and receive a total stipend of $6,000 for 10 weeks with CISTAR.
