If you currently participate in a health insurance plan that is discontinued effective July 1, 2011 and have not yet made your Benefit Choice election, please do so prior to midnight on June 17, 2011 or your health insurance coverage on July 1, 2011 will be switched to the Quality Care Health Plan (QCHP).
It is highly recommended that employees use NESSIE Benefit Choice at https://nessie.uihr.uillinois.edu/cf/benefits/index.cfm?Item_ID=10 to choose their new health plan before June 17, 2011 to expedite enrollment and receipt of health and prescription I.D. cards. Employees who experience problems with NESSIE should contact their campus UPB Benefits Services Office for assistance. Employees who do not know their NESSIE ID and/or passwords are encouraged to print out a paper Benefit Choice enrollment form located on NESSIE at https://nessie.uihr.uillinois.edu/pdf/benefits/BenefitChoiceFY12EnrollmentForm.pdf or stop by your campus UPB office for assistance.
The Urbana and Springfield campuses have scheduled Benefit Choice outreach sessions, which are posted on the OBFS Training website. To register for one of the sessions go to the OBFS Training website at: http://training.obfs.uillinois.edu/index.cfm?campus=5. Upcoming sessions on the Urbana campus are at Ikenberry Commons on June 9 and 14 at 9am - 11am and also 1pm - 3pm. Upcoming sessions on the Springfield campus are on June 8, 14 and 15 (see your HR Notes email for times and locations).
Chicago campus business managers and human resource representatives may contact UPB Benefits Services at 312-996-1848 to schedule departmental Benefit Choice sessions.
The NESSIE Benefit Choice applications will be available until midnight on June 17, 2011, marking the end of the FY2012 Benefit Choice Period. All employees in any of the discontinued health plans who have not made an election prior to midnight on June 17, 2011 will be defaulted into the Quality Care Health Plan (QCHP) effective July 1, 2011.
