Please join us in congratulating several members of the College of Education community who were recognized with 2021 Diversity & Social Justice Education Awards in a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, April 20.
These awards, in their 9th annual year, are given by the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Relations, part of Student Affairs. They recognize unsung undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, staff/faculty members, and registered student organizations that have sought to address marginalization, oppression, and/or privilege in their communities.
This year's OIIR Diversity & Social Justice Education award recipients from Education at Illinois are:
- Outstanding Graduate Student: Andrea Kunze, EPSY doctoral student
- Outstanding Alumni: Rachel Lauren Storm, PhD EPOL '17; Lori West, PhD candidate EPOL '21
- Honorable Mention, Graduate Student: Amie Baumeister, EPOL
- Honorable Mention, Staff/Faculty: Sarah Isaacs, librarian and Early Intervention Clearinghouse director
We are incredibly grateful to these honorees for putting into daily practice our shared values of diversity and social justice in education, and are proud of them for representing the College of Education so exceptionally well!
