Graduate Research Assistant – 50%
January, 1 2014 – May 15, 2014, with possible renewal
The focus of this Research Assistantship is to assist the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) in their current and future research and grants portfolio. This includes searching and compiling RFPs, literature reviews on current issues in higher education, conducting survey research, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and producing easily consumable reports. This RA will report to the Coordinator, Research & Grants.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Searching and compiling RFPs relating to current issues in higher education
- Conduct literature reviews on selected topics
- Develop online surveys and analyze quantitative and qualitative data (using appropriate software when necessary)
- Write short summary reports to share with CITL’s academic unit partners
- Schedule regular office hours and meet on a regular basis with the coordinator to discuss strategy and action plans.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Enrolled as graduate student
- Interested in online education, teaching innovations and instructional technologies
- Competent in quantitative data analyses and familiar with qualitative data analyses
- Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills
- Tech-savvy and self-directed learner
Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of current issues in higher education
- Basic proficiency with programs such as: SPSS, R, Stata and/or ATLAS t.i.
- Competent in managing citation information using referencing software (e.g. Zotero, Mendeley, Delicious etc).
