Marlee Bunch, Ed.D. '23 EPOL, has announced the publication of two books in 2025.
The first book is Leveraging AI for Human-Centered Learning. Co-authored with Brittany R. Collins, it provides intentional approaches to integrating artificial intelligence tools into middle and high school classrooms, specifically to foster equity and social-emotional well-being. It is available for pre-order on June 4 through Routledge.
Bunch's second Book, Unlearning the Hush, will be published on October 7 by the University of Illinois Press. This book draws on oral histories to illuminate the interior lives of Black female educators who taught before and after desegregation in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. In their voices, these women detail the hurdles they faced guiding students through Jim Crow laws and Civil Rights-era desegregation.
The foreword was written by Christopher Span, Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University and an alumni and longtime faculty member of the College of Education at Illinois.
