Kiel Christianson, professor, and Justin Kern, assistant professor, both of Educational Psychology have received a Center for Social and Behavioral Science Small Grant for 2025.
Their project, Exploring the Pedagogical Application of Auditory Perceptual Simulation in Developing Readers, was one of four projects selected for funding by CSBS.
Their research investigates whether guided practice with Auditory Perceptual Simulation (APS)—the mental simulation of speech while reading—can enhance reading outcomes in 4th-grade students.
