In collaboration with the Pipeline for the Advancement of the Healthcare Workforce (PATH), the Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is conducting a research study on the experiences of adult learners in career and technical education programs in community colleges in Illinois.
Participants of this voluntary study must agree with an informed consent form and participate in a focus group interview via Zoom. Interview participation will take no more than 90 minutes. The interview will be audio recorded and transcribed for later analysis for research purposes and possible papers. Names or identifiers will not be included in any paper; however, direct words from the interview may be used as a quote.
There may be emotional discomfort for participants of this study when sharing their personal experiences. Potential benefits related to this research include adding new knowledge to the body of literature in this realm and allowing the voices of adult learners to be heard. In addition, the study may reveal future implications to institutional and policy stakeholders that lead to improving the quality of institutional resources for adult learners and policy implementation in community colleges.
Please review the informed consent form, which has additional information about the study, before deciding on participation. Those who are interested in participating in the research can select a date and time that best suits their schedule via this link or contact Aidana Sirgebayeva at aidana3@illinois.edu.
Contact researchers Dr. Gianina Baker at baker44@illinois.edu or Aidana Sirgebayeva at aidana3@illinois.edu with inquiries, concerns, or complaints about the research.
