The Center for Education in Small Urban Communities received more than 200 entries for this year’s Creative Expressions Competition. The winners and honorable mention recipients were announced at the Jan. 23 MLK Jr. Community Celebration at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Essays, poems, songs, short stories, drawings, paintings, mixed media, multimedia, and sculptures were all accepted art forms for the competition, and participants were asked to think about what their community looks like and how they can change it to be more inclusive.
