The team of Hedda Meadan-Kaplansky, Melinda R. Snodgrass, Lori E. Meyer, Kim W. Fisher, Moon Y. Chung, and James W. Halle were recently published in the Journal of Early Intervention for their paper “Internet-Based Parent-Implemented Intervention for Young Children with Autism: A Pilot Study.”
Among other findings, the team found that providing training and coaching to parents from a distance using videoconferencing and other Internet-based technologies is an effective modality of service delivery.
Meadan-Kaplansky said the team’s long-term goal is to improve the quality of life of children with disabilities and their families.
“Telepractice will allow us to reach many families across the countries and beyond, and we are looking forward to continuing this line of research and supporting more families,” she said.
