The Bureau of Educational Research (BER) has announced the 2024-25 Seed Funding Awards Program recipients. This year's recipients were:
- SynthesisAI: Partnering with AI in Collaborative Knowledge Creation: PI Xinran Zhu, EPOL, and co-PI Liam Magee, EPOL.
- Learning Together: Building a Sustainable and Mutually Beneficial Partnership Between A Local School and UIUC Elementary Math Methods Courses: PI Mari Alshuler, C&I, co-PI Scott Filkins, Adam Poetzel, C&I, Curtis Mason, EPOL, Cara Gutzmer and Sue Talbott, Office of School & Community Experiences.
- Reimagining Design Processes in Inclusive Extended Reality for Collaborative STEM Learning: PI Jina Kang, C&I, consultants Saadedine Shehab, Siebel Center for Design, and Christian Millan-Hernandez, University Laboratory High School.
- Developing Deep AI-ASI Literacy: Asset Mapping and Needs Assessment Survey: PI Nicholas Tanchuk, EPOL, co-PIs Rebecca Taylor, EPOL, and Tim McIlvain, Illinois Learning Technology Center.
The purpose of the College of Education Seed Award Program is to promote new research efforts and to enhance the collaborative research culture in the College, providing initial support necessary to undertake research collaborations that will continue beyond the funding period.
