Congratulations to C&I and EPOL associate professor Jon Hale, who is one of seven faculty members on campus to be named a 2023-24 Humanities Research Fellow.
The 2023-24 fellows represent a range of disciplines and interests from the Colleges of Education, Fine and Applied Arts, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. HRI had an open research theme for the year; applicants were invited to propose projects investigating any subject. Hale's fellowship will focus on the topic, “I Pledge Allegiance: A History of Racist Ideas, Textbooks, and Teaching in the United States School System.”
