Gabriel Rodriguez, assistant professor Education Policy, Organization & Leadership, has published an article in AERA Open.
The article, "Geographies of Refusal: Understanding Racially Minoritized Youth Activism in Suburban Schools," examines racially minoritized youth's activism at a suburban high school in Iowa.
Rodriguez's analysis focuses on how youth's activism was shaped by a schooling culture that ghosted and gaslighted them whenever they voiced grievances and mobilized to hold their school accountable for their espoused commitment to equity.
