SwaTaleem (Swa from Sanskrit meaning 'Self' and Taleem from Persian meaning 'Owning your Education') is an international nonprofit that works with adolescent girls, teachers, and local government officials in some of the most remote parts of the world to ensure quality education and critical life skills.
The organization is hiring interns for summer 2020 in a variety of roles.
SwaTaleem uses a human-centered design approach that is based on iterations and learnings from the field and it is the community that chooses the core problem and we help facilitate solutions along with socio-emotional and technical skills.
SwaTaleem won the Illinois Innovation Prize in 2020 and is already working with 900 girls and we hope to reach over 2000 girls in the next 12 months. We have been selected in 4 international accelerators and recently signed a government MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in India.
