Article makes a lot of sense.  The author has a good point about all the legalese in the contract which I imagine most people don't read.  How can you not trust Apple or Amazon?  Have always wondered why ebook were so expensive in relation to the price of books or, better said, book books.  Sometimes there is practically no difference in price.  On the other hand, ebooks are great for those of us who cannot access book books we would like because we live outside US, for example.

Although it concerns me that Amazon can limit use of its "Kindle Content", I am more concerned that providers of e-book content will change the content, and no one will notice, making it possible to, in fact, change "history."

Although tyrants throughout time have tried to burn books, it's very, very hard to get every copy of a book. Hardcopy books disseminated throughout geographical space leave a record.

It seems to me, it would be a  piece of cake to change the content of an entire e-book title or of many titles. With a few strokes of a keyboard, history might be altered.

We are entering an age in which there will be no primary documents.
