Now receiving applications for the Summer 2026 REU InSPIRES Program at Michigan Technological University. This fully funded summer research experience runs from May 23 through July 18, 2026, and is designed to provide students with hands-on, interdisciplinary research experiences alongside professional development and cultural enrichment activities. Students will engage in applied research areas including semiconductors, life cycle analysis, wastewater management, and copper recovery, while also participating in career workshops, industry visits, team-based activities, and cultural immersion experiences.
The program is open to 2-year and 4-year degree-seeking students in chemistry (physical or organic), biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, and environmental engineering, as well as other related engineering disciplines. Participants receive a $5,600 stipend, with housing, meals, and travel support provided. The program will be hosted on Michigan Tech’s campus in Houghton, Michigan.
