  • Paid Research Opportunity for Undergraduates | Columbia SURE Program

    Applications for the 2023 Columbia University - Amazon SURE Program are now open. SURE is a unique academic-industry collaboration created to foster career exploration at the frontiers of engineering research. 

    This 10-week summer research program in New York City is designed to support under-represented minorities and female-identifying students in STEM on their pathways into graduate school in engineering and science. A recent recipient of the INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine Inspiring Programs in STEM Award, SURE has a reputation for helping students jumpstart their careers as researchers and academics.

    Please take note of the following key program dates:

  • Dow Diamond Symposium

    The Dow Diamond Symposium is an exciting three day event intended for African American, Latino, and American Indian undergraduate students majoring in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Accounting/Finance, and Business Administration with one of the world’s largest and leading chemical companies. Selected participants will be exposed to potential career opportunities within Dow and learn more about the Science to Our Success.

    Diamond Symposium participants can expect to:
    - Hear from dynamic Dow leaders on “How to Create Your Personal Brand” and “Build Networking Skills”
    - Learn more about Dow, our technology & products, our sustainability, and our employee resource groups
    - Participate in a cross-functional case study
    - Meet and network with Dow leaders and employees

    The event runs from August 21st through August 24th in Midland, Michigan. The symposium is before the first day of instruction for Fall Semester. Travel, food, and accommodation expenses will be covered.

  • Apple Latinx Exchange

    The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has partnered with Apple to bring engaging and varied experiences to college students.

    Apple will be hosting a career panel discussion on April 28, 2021, titled Latinx Exchange.

    Offered by their employee resource group Amigos@Apple, is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing a technology career.

    The Latinx Exchange provides a forum for Apple Latinx employees to share their respective stories and offer advice to students in the early stages of their professional careers as they speak of the infinite possibilities in the world of technology.

    Software engineers who work for the Apple Cloud Services (ACS) organization will discuss challenges and inspirations as members of the tech field.

    The Apple Cloud Services team is responsible for crafting systems for Apple services such as iCloud, iTunes, Siri, Maps, and Apple’s software developers take great pride in providing user-friendly products.

    Students who would like to learn more about applying to work at Apple, will have the opportunity to speak with recruiters from the Apple Cloud Services team, and receive guidance in Apple’s hiring process.

    Additionally, students will hear about the importance of diversity and inclusion from Apple’s Latinx employees, and learn how commitment to this mission makes it  one of the top technology companies in the nation.

     

    The Latinx Exchange is scheduled for April 28 at 2:00 PM PDT.
