      EITP YouTube Channel

      This channel shares video resources for the Early Intervention Training Program at the University of Illinois (EITP). The mission of the Early Intervention Training Program at the University of Illinois is to develop a comprehensive system of personnel development that is regional, responsive, and reflective of best practice in the field of early intervention.       Early Intervention and Child Care...Natural Partners in Natural Environments

      Children receiving EI services in child care settings increase each year. Some CFCs report that up to 50% of services are taking place in child care centers. Therefore, working with other early childhood professionals is important in best serving these children and their families. This video acts as an introduction for child care providers and highlights the benefits of these partnerships for both child and family outcomes. Produced in collaboration with the University of Illinois Office of Public Engagement, Illinois Department of Human Services, and Shatterglass Studios.

      Family Rights in EI Video Series

      The Family Rights in Early Intervention (EI) Video Series was designed to support families' and early interventionists' understanding of their safeguards or rights in participating in the EI system. This series features both families and professionals describing these rights and what they mean across time. Supporting families' understanding of their rights from referral to transition can empower them to know what to expect, use their voice, and fully participate in the process.       Booklet: Natural Partners in Natural Environments: Childcare and EI - A Guide to Early Intervention Services in Illinois

      This booklet has a wealth of information for child care providers about early intervention (EI)! It describes how the EI system works within Illinois and how you can best support young children and their families considering EI services or those involved with an EI team already.

      Child Care Provider (CCP) Handout: Working with Early Intervention as a Child Care Provider

      CCPs are an important part of a child's life, and can be a valuable resource during an EI visit and as part of the EI team. This brief handout provides an overview of EI services in Illinois, what to expect during an EI visit, how CCPs work to support EI, and additional resources.

      EI Provider Handout: Working in Child Care as an EI Provider

      Childcare settings are ideal for EI services! This 2-page handout describes ways EI providers can involve child care providers (CCPs) in services and considerations to make during visits to child care settings and while working with CCPs, as well as additional resources to support this essential teamwork.

      Family Handout: "What is Early Intervention?" (pdf)

      This 2-page handout defines Early Intervention (EI) and explains what happens during an EI visit. It also stresses the importance of parents in EI, identifies possible EI team members, and highlights resources that can provide additional information about EI.       CFC Listing

      A directory of the Child and Family Connections (CFC) offices in the state of Illinois as of October 2016. The CFC is the regional intake entity responsible for ensuring that all referrals to the EI Services System receive a timely response in a professional and family-centered manner. Each CFC is responsible for the implementation of the EI Services System within their specific geographic region of the state. All staff employed as Service Coordinators or Parent Liaisons by a CFC are required to obtain an EI credential before providing services to families.
