These modules are from the "Online System Overview" course available online, asynchronously through EITP. The modules are a resource for those seeking more information about the components of the Early Intervention System in Illinois. These "resource versions" of the modules include all activities, videos, and knowledge checks as well. Learners can expect to take 3-4 hours to complete all training modules. You will NOT receive EI credit for viewing these modules.
To earn credit, you must register for the Online System Overview course and complete the course within our Instructure/Canvas learning management system.
Chapter 1 provides a comprehensive definition of Early Intervention (EI) and an overview of the principles, vision statements, law, and guidance around EI. Additionally, this chapter introduces the coaching approach with families as a critical component of service delivery.
Chapter 2 covers the Illinois Lead Agency and System Supports, which comprise the state's governance of Early Intervention.
Chapter 3 introduces the organizations that can work in tandem with early intervention to offer holistic support to a child and family.
Chapter 4 discusses responsibilities for professionals in the EI system, including credentialing, enrollment, systems of payment, and foundational content on billing and insurance.
Chapter 5 explores the EI professionals who work within Illinois' Child and Family Connections offices— a family's first touchpoint with the early intervention system.
Chapter 6 examines the work performed by EI service providers, as well as the developmental domains, natural environment, IFSP, child and family outcomes, and other pieces of the EI puzzle that inform providers' work.
