The Counseling Center is saddened by the news that the body of recent University of Illinois graduate Christian Zamora, who had been missing since December 31, was located in Crystal Lake in Urbana. Our thoughts are with Christian’s family and friends during this difficult time. We understand that students may be experiencing a range of grief responses and may benefit from assistance sorting through their experiences and/or guidance with coping strategies.
We’re located in the Student Services Building at the corner of Sixth and John Streets in Champaign and are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We schedule first time appointments on a same day basis. Our offices open at 7:50 a.m. and we recommend that you call early as our appointments often fill quickly. If you feel that you need to see a counselor immediately, please come to the Counseling Center. If you need to speak with someone after 5 p.m., please call the Crisis Line at 217-359-4141.
