On Tuesday, September 5, 2017, the U.S. Department of Justice announced the impending end to the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. We understand that the decision can have many implications for our students and can cause emotional distress. Please know that the Counseling Center is here to assist. We have a number of trained mental health professionals who offer confidential mental health consultations.
If you need support, we’re here for you. We offer trauma responses, outreach and prevention programming, and counseling services for students. We’re located in the Student Services Building at the corner of Sixth and John Streets in Champaign and are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We schedule first time appointments on a same day basis. Our offices open at 7:50 a.m. and we recommend that you call early as our appointments often fill quickly. If you feel that you need to see a counselor immediately, please come to the Counseling Center. If you need to speak with someone after 5 p.m., please call the Crisis Line at 217-359-4141.
