2026 SMC Project Internship - due 3/27/26 Feb 23, 2026 1:30 pm by Beatriz HaverkosInternships Share on Facebook Tweet Email Application WebsiteEssential FunctionsOffice activities may include, but will not be limited to:updating the SMC project database and creating an inventory of project photoscoordination with other Lake County departments/divisions for educational videos and outreach opportunitieseducation and outreach support by creating project factsheets, coordinating stream clean-up requestsCentral Permit Facility maintenance supportfilling data gaps in the SMC GIS Permit databaseField activities may include, but will not be limited to:photographing and documenting SMC project sitesinspections on various construction projects under the guidance of the SMC Regulatory Staffinspections and investigating potentially illicit discharges under the guidance of the SMC Stormwater Coordinatorother assigned field tasks as needed under the guidance of SMC Planning and Regulatory staffKnowledge Skills Abilities and Education Requiredintermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office productsbasic to intermediate level experience with the ESRI ArcGIS Suite, specifically ArcGIS Pro, is desiredability to work both inside and outside in variable conditionswilling to engage in limited to moderately strenuous physical activityhighly motivated, be willing to take initiative and coordinate with project managers to ensure assigned work items are completed on scheduleunderstanding the basics of photographyEducation Requirements:graduate of, or current student in, a 2- or 4-year higher education programemphasis on water resource engineering, environmental science, urban planning, biology, or related fieldPhysical Requirements:candidate will work both inside and outside in variable conditions and engage in limited to moderately strenuous physical activity Additional Resources Program Flyer Share on Facebook Tweet Email
