Job Descriptions: Under general supervision of the project leader, assists in the operation and execution of the roadside seeding project. Provides functional supervision to a natural resource work crew responsible for the preparation and seeding of roadside, ditch and field borders. Purchases fertilizer and directs work crew in fertilizing wildlife cover areas. Monitors the field use and maintenance of machinery and equipment. Keeps records of areas seeded of fertilized. Collects wildlife data in cooperation with professional biologists.
Job Qualifications: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school Requires possession of a valid Class A commercial driver’s license. Requires two years experience in wildlife resource management. Requires ability to operate farm tractors and farm implements. Requires ability to complete Pesticide Operator’s Certification.
This position requires possession of a valid Class ‘A’ Illinois Commercial Driver’s License. The employee/applicant shall provide proof of possession of the valid Class ‘A’ Illinois Commercial Driver’s License designation at the time the bid is submitted in order to be considered qualified and eligible for the position. If the eligible bidder selected for this position has not previously held a position requiring a Commercial Driver’s License, he/she must pass a pre-employment drug test which will be scheduled by the Department. If the eligible bidder is unable to pass such test, he/she will not be considered qualified or eligible for the position.
