The message below was sent to students on programs NOT considered for resumption in Fall 2021.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has made the difficult decision to not offer this program during Fall 2021 or Academic Year 2021-2022. In the current environment, the university is taking a very selective approach to resuming study abroad. We felt that it was not yet appropriate to resume offering this opportunity. For more information, please see the Study Abroad FAQs.
However, staff are exploring opportunities for resuming a select group of programs for Fall 2021. You may view a list of the programs being considered for Fall 2021 in My Study Abroad. You can also communicate with the Study Abroad Office sponsoring your program for other opportunities, including deferring until Spring 2022. The pandemic’s global trajectory remains unpredictable due to surges, emerging mutations, and associated governmental responses. This presents a significant challenge to resuming study abroad in 2021 and the possibility remains that no programs will proceed.
If you are no longer interested in studying abroad, please contact the Study Abroad Office that sponsors your program. You may also log onto My Study Abroad to withdraw your application. No matter your application status, there will be no application fee assessed if you withdraw.
If you are interested in another opportunity, you can contact the study abroad office that sponsors the new program and ask that they transfer your application. Any questions may be directed to the sponsor of the new program. If you pursue another program, you will only be assessed one application fee.
