Updates to the University of Illinois System Policy: Protection of Minors have been made and can be found on the System Human Resources website.
The updates were done as part of a triennial policy review. Key aspects of the policy remain the same including the requirements for completing ANCRA training, reporting instances of suspected child abuse or neglect to the Department of Children and Family Services and the University Police, completing background checks, and developing safeguards for activities and programs that include minors.
The updated policy provides additional clarity for volunteers, contractors, and other designated individuals. Updated definitions are also included.
