It is our pleasure to share with you the Call for Proposals for the Discovery Partners Institute’s (DPI) DPI-Fermilab Research Partnership on Computing and Data Technologies.
Please join your University of Illinois System colleagues in building DPI’s research and development portfolio by applying for a DPI-Fermilab Research Partnership on Computing and Data Technologies Seed Funding Grant. Participants must include members from the University of Illinois System as well as Fermi National Laboratory. Teams should conduct joint research on computing and data technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, machine learning, cybersecurity, pattern recognition, etc.). Our goal is to leverage the complementary research expertise and resources from both organizations to develop the next generation of computing and data technologies with inspiring impacts on science, the economy, and society.
Proposals should demonstrate the ability to advance fundamental knowledge in research on computing and data technologies with potential for industry application in one or more of the following sectors:
- Digital Government
- Energy
- Finance and Insurance
- Food and Agriculture
- Health and Wellness
- Information Technology
- Infrastructure
- Transportation
- Water and Climate
Maximum requested amount of funding is $150k over 18 months. More details are available at the competition webpage.
An informational webinar will be held on Monday, September 20 from 12-1pm. The meeting will include an overview of the project as well as some time for team facilitation.
