Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Illinois Human Resources (IHR) and the Office for Access and Equity (OAE), we are pleased to share the newest revision of the University’s Recruitment and Hiring Guidelines. These guidelines are a joint effort of our two offices with input from a range of campus stakeholders. The Guidelines can be found on IHR’s website here and are located here on the OAE website.
As always, the overarching goal of the guidelines is to provide clear, equitable, and inclusive hiring practices that help the university attract the best available candidates from a diverse talent pool, which is essential to the university’s mission across the areas of teaching, research, and service. In this revision, one important goal was to update our processes to reflect the transition to Cornerstone and JDXpert. We have also adjusted roles and processes between IHR and OAE to better align with the distinct responsibilities of our two offices, and we have streamlined workflows in ways that are congruent with our Operational Excellence efforts (such as combined Staff workflows instead of redundant processes for academic professional and civil service hiring).
The university thrives based on the contributions of our faculty and staff, and we appreciate all of your efforts to ensure that our employees have an inclusive and supportive work environment. As we move forward, IHR and OAE are committed to continuous improvement in our services. We invite you to review the new guidelines and contact either of our offices if you have feedback or questions.
We will be sending this message to all EEO Officers and our administrative users of Cornerstone later today.
