The paid time off for COVID-19-related reasons provided under the federal American Rescue Plan ends September 30, 2021, and has not been renewed by the federal government.
At this time, the University of Illinois System will continue to provide a limited amount of paid sick leave to employees from October 1 through October 31, 2021, for: obtaining the vaccine; recovering from any injury, disability, illness, or condition related to the vaccination; and/or complying with an isolation order due to infection with the virus even if asymptomatic.
Employees who exhausted paid time off provided under the American Rescue Plan are not eligible for this leave.
