Dear Colleagues,
I write to inform you that Allison Kushner will be resigning her position as ADA Coordinator and Director of the Accessibility & Accommodations Division in the Office for Access and Equity in order to take on a new role at the University of Michigan. I am grateful to Allison for the contributions she has made to the university serving in this role since 2020.
Effective Monday, March 6, Associate Vice Chancellor Nizam Arain will serve as the university’s acting ADA Coordinator and as acting Director of the Accessibility & Accommodations Division. As such, he will be responsible for overseeing campus compliance with disability-related laws and regulations, and for managing the accommodation process for employees with disabilities. Please continue to use the existing reporting mechanisms for accommodation requests and accessibility barriers. More information can be found at https://oae.illinois.edu/about-oae/accessibility-accommodations-division/ or by emailing accessibility@illinois.edu.
I will soon be finalizing the plans to fill this vacancy in consultation with relevant stakeholders and will share more information at the appropriate time.
Sincerely,
Sean Garrick
Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
