Dear colleagues:
The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute (IHSI) is offering buyout funds for interdisciplinary researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeking center- and program-level grants and contracts focused on brain health. The available Brain Health Center Proposal Planning Grants funding will cover release time from teaching and service obligations so that researchers may complete the design, preparation, and submission of these large-scale grant and contract applications.
Please consider this opportunity for interdisciplinary researchers in your unit who are ready to take the next step in their careers toward a large-scale opportunity in brain health.
More details on the Brain Health Center Proposal Planning Grants can be found on the IHSI website. Below are a few highlights:
- IHSI anticipates funding two buyout awards of up to $75,000 each, in addition to in-kind IHSI research development and research administration support
- Proposed centers may cover any area of brain health
- Research teams must identify the funding mechanism and targeted submission date that they wish to apply to in advance and include a link to the RFA in their application to IHSI.
- IHSI can assist with interdisciplinary connections and collaboration with clinical partners.
It is required that faculty on the planning grant seeking release time from any teaching or service obligations obtain approval from their department head or director for the semester covered by the planning grant. We look forward to working with you and your unit on a mutually beneficial arrangement to catalyze brain health research and innovation.
If you have questions, please reach out to Cathlene Hardy Hansen, IHSI Director of Research and Innovation, at chhansen@illinois.edu.
