Dear Colleagues:
The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute (IHSI) is seeking input to improve campus-wide infrastructure and resources for supporting research with human participants. By better understanding and responding to the needs and interests of researchers at UIUC who conduct research with human participants, our campus will be better positioned to compete for research funding, lower costs, and most notably, improve interventions and treatments for our communities.
We invite both researchers who work with human participants and those in leadership positions to complete the Investing in Research with Human Participants survey. Your input will help us assess needs and challenges related to coordination and recruitment of research participants, and biospecimen and biodata collection and analysis.
The survey covers three main topic areas across six sections. While we hope for feedback on all sections, you are welcome to respond only to areas of most interest or concern to you or your researchers.
- Research Coordinators and Coordination
- Recruitment and Retention of Research Participants
- Biospecimen Collection, Testing Metrics, and Bioimaging
Thank you for sharing your insights and helping to inform priorities and next steps for better supporting Illinois health research and innovation.
Sincerely,
Stephen Boppart, MD, PhD
Interim Director, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute
