I am pleased to share some exciting leadership news within the Office of University Audits. As our office continues to evolve and grow, we have two important changes to celebrate.
Darla Hill is planning to retire from her audit career in April of 2027. To provide a smooth transition for our university community, she is moving into a newly created leadership position supporting the Executive Director, where she will help advance several key initiatives, including strengthening alignment among our office practices and professional internal audit standards, building out resources for audit systems and methodologies, and exploring how emerging technologies like AI can enhance our work. Darla's 25 years of dedication and deep institutional knowledge have been invaluable to our office, and we are grateful to benefit from her expertise and wisdom in this role.
In conjunction with Darla's transition, I am happy to announce that Teri Travis has been promoted to the role of Director of Audits at the Urbana and Springfield campuses. Teri has spent more than three decades in accounting and auditing, including over 20 years with our office where she has taken on some of our most challenging and complex work. Beyond her audit responsibilities, Teri has been a mentor and resource for staff at all levels, training campus accounting teams, guiding new employees, and working closely with leadership to find solutions to difficult problems. Her strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and management, combined with her wealth of experience, make her a natural fit for this role.
Please join me in congratulating both Darla and Teri on these well-earned milestones. We look forward to their leadership and partnership in the work ahead.
