As you know, Matt Ballinger serves as Executive Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police. His new title will be Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public Safety and Chief of Police. Until Board of Trustees approval, his title will be Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public Safety Designate and Chief of Police.
As the university continues to strengthen its approach to safety, preparedness, and risk management, Chief Ballinger has assumed broader leadership responsibilities in advancing these efforts. This title change reflects the expanded scope of his role and the strategic leadership he provides in support of the university’s commitment to a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
I am grateful to him for leading our university in his current role. And I am confident in his ability to continue to maximize the safety of our university community.
