You may be aware that the Graduate Employees Organization (GEO), who currently represents Teaching Assistants (TAs), Graduate Assistants (GAs) and Pre-Professional Graduate Assistants (PGAs), has filed a petition with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board (IELRB) to certify Research Assistants (RAs) in the bargaining unit. Voting will take place on July 10 at Ikenberry Commons. The Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act (IELRA) restricts what an employer and their management representatives may say or do during a union organizing campaign.
