Our university has a strong history of leadership in accessibility. As part of that commitment, we’re working together to improve digital accessibility across all online platforms. Our goal is to create inclusive, user-friendly digital environments that meet the requirements of ADA Title II.
All university staff, faculty, and instructors who produce or manage digital content share responsibility for ensuring its accessibility. We have launched a new Digital Accessibility website that will provide comprehensive tips and training to support faculty and staff in learning how to make our digital materials accessible. Key features of the website include:
Ways to Support Your Teams:
- Encourage Faculty and Staff Participation: Please inform your teams of the resources available and encourage them to attend the training sessions and use the website to review their digital materials. We are not asking them to become accessibility experts, but we are asking them to engage with the resources so we all can contribute to our institutional missions and comply with disability law.
- Support Content Accessibility: Emphasize the importance of creating digital materials to align with our mission to foster accessibility across all platforms.
Your leadership will play a pivotal role in the success of this initiative. Thank you for helping us uphold our commitment to accessibility and support our faculty and staff in creating an inclusive digital environment.
