AI Professional Development Series
This series offers three learning pathways to help employees and leaders build confidence, capability, and practical skills for working in an AI enabled environment:
Foundational | Intermediate | Leadership
Foundational Series (New to AI)
For employees beginning their AI journey, the Foundational Series focuses on AI literacy, responsible use, and practical awareness. Sessions help participants understand what AI can (and can’t) do and begin thinking about how AI fits into everyday work.
Intermediate Series (Ready to go deeper)
If you participated in the Employee Series during October–December 2025—or already have baseline AI experience—we encourage you to consider the Intermediate Series.
The Intermediate Series is designed for employees who want to apply AI more directly in their roles and is delivered in two parts:
Part 1: Participants choose specific AI tools to explore in greater depth, building hands on familiarity and confidence (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Illinois Chat, Zoom AI Companion).
Intermediate sessions will be scheduled based on interest in specific tools and job categories. Please complete the expression of interest form to help us assess campus demand and plan sessions.
Leadership Series (Foundational)
Registration is open for the Leadership Series. This provides leaders with foundational knowledge about AI’s practical value, supporting AI adoption with clarity and confidence while ensuring safe experimentation.
Whether you’re just getting started or ready to build practical, role-based AI skills, there is an AI learning pathway for you. Explore the sessions and register today. Questions may be directed to IHR@illinois.edu.
