Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to share that Jeffrey Angiel has been selected to serve as the new Associate Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of Facilities & Services, pending approval by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. He will begin in this role on Aug. 12.
Angiel currently is the Director of Facilities Operations at University at Buffalo, where he oversees skilled trades, customer service, energy management and more across three campuses. He brings extensive experience in guiding complex organizations to improve their customer experience and operations. Prior to his work at University at Buffalo, he was the Director of Water Reclamation at Loudoun Water, serving 420,000 residents in Loudoun County, Virginia.
Angiel has a strong record of forming collaborative relationships to contribute to institutional goals. At Buffalo, he was part of the university’s sustainability, energy management, procurement, emergency services, capital planning, IT infrastructure and public safety programs. His ability to connect stakeholders with strategic initiatives made him the clear choice to be the next leader of Facilities & Services. I am confident his considerable skill, experience and expertise will be critical assets as we collaborate to carry out our goals and initiatives here at Illinois.
I want to thank the search committee, chaired by Kristin McMurray, for their careful and thoughtful work. And I also want to thank Morgan White for her service as the interim executive director.
I hope you all will join me in congratulating Jeffrey Angiel on this position. We all look forward to welcoming him to our university community.
Sincerely,
Mike DeLorenzo
Vice Chancellor for Administration and Operations
