Dear Colleagues,
I’m delighted to announce that Steve Maren will become the next director of the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, effective August 16. He will serve as interim director until the Board of Trustees reviews his appointment at its September meeting.
Steve comes to us from Texas A&M and the University of Michigan. He is a visionary leader and an accomplished, interdisciplinary scientist, and I’m delighted to welcome him “home” to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
