We are pleased to announce the 2023–24 Human Resources Series for Supervisors and Managers (HR Series). This free series focuses on human resources policies and guiding principles, including Provost Communications and Civil Service Policy and Rules, which govern HR practices on campus.
By providing your managers and supervisors with critical knowledge and access to Illinois experts, they can become more confident in consistently interpreting and applying university policies, rules, and procedures. Facilitators include representatives from Illinois Human Resources; the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and Public Safety.
Participating supervisors and managers are taught to impact your unit’s effectiveness through:
- Addressing common human resources issues with confidence
- Giving employees effective, timely, performance-based feedback
- Creating a positive workforce and productive work environment
- Managing conflict on the job
A critical factor in the success of the HR Series has been the commitment from campus leadership to recommend the program to managers and supervisors and provide support for their participation. In addition, we encourage you (and your managers) to subscribe to the new ELOE Professional Development Bulletin. The bulletin will feature available HR Series seminars as well as other training programs including Managing Hybrid and Remote Teams and the Illinois Supervisory Skills Program.
