Dear Colleagues,
As we begin the Spring 2022 semester, we know that many units are beginning to plan summer camps. I’m writing to share this document that includes the university’s COVID-19 requirements for both day and overnight camps. I ask that you share this information broadly with anyone in your unit who is involved with planning or managing summer camps.
At this time, we expect that proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test will be required for all participants 5 and over, including staff. Face coverings will also be mandatory for all indoor activities pending any changes in state guidance. It is the responsibility of the camp organizers to ensure camp participants meet these requirements.
We are hosting an online meeting for camp organizers to share more information and answer questions or concerns on Tuesday, Feb. 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can attend the meeting by clicking this Zoom link. We plan to record the meeting for anyone who is unable to attend.
COVID-19 information can change quickly, and we will continue to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD). If conditions improve and we are able to relax any of these restrictions, we will communicate any updates. Please email any questions to ovcao@illinois.edu.
Sincerely,
Michael DeLorenzo
Vice Chancellor for Administration and Operations
