Re: 2027 Provisional Fringe Benefit Rates and Final F&A and Tuition Remission Rates – URBANA CAMPUS ONLY

FY27 Provisional Fringe Benefit Rates take effect on pay periods BW15 and MN8.
The FY27 Provisional Fringe Benefit Rates schedule provides detailed rate application guidelines for F&A, tuition, and fringe benefits. Following audit and rate negotiations with our Federal cognizant agency, the approved Final Fringe Benefit Rates will be published.
Also, the FY26 – FY29 Final F&A Rates have been negotiated with our Federal cognizant agency. Please note that there is a change from the FY26 Provisional Rate and FY26 Final Rates for on-campus instruction and other sponsored activities. Existing awards will continue to use the F&A rate that was in effect at the time of the original award unless the federal agency explicitly requires otherwise. The new F&A rates will be applied to proposals that have been submitted and awarded with a performance beginning on or after July 1, 2026, but have not yet been executed. This change is to account for the HHS Salary Limitation that was released on November 14, 2024. NOT-OD-25-025.
Lastly, the FY27 Tuition Remission Rates have been established. The Instruction and Organized Research Rates will remain at 64%, while the rate for other sponsored activities has decreased this year to 60%.
