Dear Colleagues,
You may recall that as part of the 2019 Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition (NTFC) negotiations, the University agreed to define further some academic duties and responsibilities. In particular, each college, school, department, or unit that employs represented specialized faculty must create guidelines that specify the duty percentages and course loads expected of full-time NTFC members. According to the side letter, the guidelines should be finalized and readily accessible to members by May 15, 2021. The side letter is viewable here on page 22 of the NTFC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
I recognize and appreciate that many units have completed or are near completion of this task. Even so, the Provost’s Office remains available to assist units with this obligation.
