Dear Colleagues,
It is time once again to choose our leaders for the Campus Charitable Fund Drive (CCFD). Last year, our campaign generated more than $1.37 million from our employees and retirees to support local and national social service, advocacy, and community organizations. I am asking at this time for your selection of a strong and dedicated section leader and enthusiastic unit leaders.
Your recruitment of a section leader and unit leaders is perhaps the most important action you will take in support of the campaign and is a critical factor in its success. I ask that you consider carefully and select committed leaders who will inspire their team members to give to their full potential.
The individuals you appoint should be willing to play a key role in the campaign. Your section leader will work with unit leaders to coordinate the fundraising drive within your section. In general, it is recommended that you select leaders from among the faculty or senior level administrative ranks. The ideal section leader is someone who knows your units well and can identify effective, motivated leaders to head the units within your college/administrative section.
A faculty-staff Advisory Board has been appointed to administer the 2018 CCFD Campaign. Jeff Brown, Dean of the Gies College of Business, and Alma Sealine, Director of University Housing, will serve as campaign co-chairs. Jeff, Alma and the Advisory Board are creating a campaign to motivate even more of our colleagues to participate in making a difference in our community. Tremayne Price in the Office of the Chancellor will provide campaign coordination under the direction of Executive Associate Chancellor for Administration and University Relations Wanda E. Ward.
The 2018 CCFD Campaign will kick off on Monday, September 17 and conclude on Friday, November 9. The goals for this year’s campaign are to raise $1.5 million and have 25% employee participation. These are lofty aspirations, and I hope you will join me in making a personal commitment to doing all we can to encourage participation.
Our campus is recognized throughout the State of Illinois for its consistent generosity. I appreciate your support of the CCFD as we give back to the community that supports us.
Please email ccfd@illinois.edu or call 265-6398 with the names of your section leader and unit leaders by Friday, August 10. Thank you for your continuing leadership and support.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Jones
Chancellor
