Dear Deans, Directors, and Department Heads,
We’ve received several inquiries about the changes to the Academic Catalog and it has become clear that the messages we sent in advance of the changes did not get shared as widely as we had hoped. I would rather err on the side of oversharing and this is going to a wide variety of people. Please ignore this if you do not work with the Academic Catalog or Department/College websites.
First the good news, after consulting with various stakeholders, we’ve reorganized the Catalog to make it easier for students, especially new students, to find program information. Undergraduates now simply need to click on “Undergraduate” in the menu on the left side of the page to be taken directly to the list of all undergraduate majors and concentrations. Graduate students will find the list of graduate programs by clicking on the “Graduate” link. The old Degree Programs Index is still being update and is available, also from the menu on the left side of the page, for those of you who prefer using that table.
Now the bad news, if any website includes a link to academic program information in the Catalog, that link is now likely broken and needs to be updated. We are exploring options with our vendor to prevent this sort of problem in the future, but for now broken links will have to be manually fixed. Please note that the College and academic unit pages within the Catalog are the purview of the Colleges and are being updated by the College contacts. Please contact your College contact if you find errors in those pages.
