I am pleased to announce that Kristin McMurray has been named the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration and Operations, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. She has already begun this position. Until Board approval has been received, her title will be Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration and Operations.
In this new role, she will assist in the oversight of the new Vice Chancellor for Operations and Administration office. She will develop and implement policy at all levels related to facility use and event creation and reservation, oversee the coordination of events in campus classrooms and outdoor locations, manage classroom event scheduling and coordinate lease activities for the Office of the Chancellor with Real Estate Services. She will also oversee operations at several locations, spaces and facilities including the Illini Center, Altgeld Chimes, McFarland Carillon, Foellinger Auditorium, Lincoln Hall Theater and the Campus Instructional Facility.
Kristin has been leading in facility management at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for more than 20 years, most recently as Associate Registrar for Facility Management and Scheduling (FMS) in the Office of the Registrar. In that role, she oversaw the coordination of instruction listings, the class schedule and the final exam schedule. She was responsible for the allocation and scheduling of more than 300 classrooms. She also supervised event management and reservations for those classrooms and 20 outdoor spaces. Before leading in that role, Kristin held positions in Campus Recreation in Member Services and Facility Management and Event Operations.
Kristin is extremely knowledgeable about this university, helpful, efficient and a collaborative leader. I know she will be a helpful partner to you and your teams.
