Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce the kickoff of a university-wide Student Success Initiative, an effort to better understand the factors that lead to positive and productive experiences for our undergraduate students.
From the classroom to academic advising to co-curricular support, each of you play an important role in ensuring we are providing the best experience for our students. I hope you will join Chancellor Robert Jones, Provost Andreas Cangellaris and your colleagues from across campus at the Student Success Initiative kickoff event on Monday, September 16 at 1 p.m. in Illini Union Rooms B and C. Please RSVP here.
At the kickoff, campus community members will help identify what constitutes undergraduate student success, looking specifically at retention, graduation rates, placement, degree-completion time, and other outcomes and experiences. Individuals will help identify strengths, gaps, and priorities with a focus on academic support, co-curricular activities, first-year experience and foundational courses. Your perspective and input to this process are important.
An email announcing the event to faculty, staff, and students will go out on Tuesday, September 3.
