I write to inform you that the position of Secretary of the Board of Trustees and the University will be vacated by Dedra “Dee Dee” Williams when she retires in May 2020. She has served in this important role since 2016 and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be crucial to emulate as we seek to fill this vacancy.
This high-level leadership position is one of four officers of the Board of Trustees that also include the treasurer, the comptroller, and the university counsel. The Secretary of the Board acts on behalf of the Chair of the Board and the President of the University System in coordinating the development of the recommendations for consideration by the Board. The Secretary also responds to various requests for information from members of the Board, the University Community, and the public. In addition, the Secretary is responsible for the preparations for board meetings and meetings of the five committees of the Board (Executive Committee; Academic and Student Affairs Committee; Audit, Budget, Finance and Facilities Committee; Governance Personnel, and Ethics Committee; and the Hospital Committee; and for preparations of Minutes of these committees).
