Microsoft has implemented a new licensing model that the campus will transition to on June 29.
In order for us to comply with the terms in our contract with Microsoft, we need to make changes that will affect some of your current and future staff. Affected staff includes crafts/service workers, extra help, academic/grad hourlies, postdocs, retirees, and emeriti.
After June 29, affected staff will no longer be able to download, install, and use Office 365 apps on personal devices, access Microsoft Bookings (or other online applications as determined by Microsoft), and have lower storage limits for OneDrive and SharePoint. Access to online versions of Office apps, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, will continue to be available.
We will provide the IT staff in your units with a list of individuals this change will impact. The list and message can be found here. In the following days, we will reach out to those individuals to inform them of the changes.
